On Tuesday we were visiting Hayesfield Girls´ School. We
walked to the School after having practised the way there previous evening. It
was 1,2 km, about 20 minutes walk. We observed
four lessons in French and Spanish. The students seemed eager to learn and the lessons were full
of action and energy. The languages were exercised in practical
situations. The teachers were really
friendly for us visitors - we visited
this school together with the Danish teachers and the Spanish Maria.
We observed the joyful atmosphere in the classes. The
pupils behaved really nicely. The constant evaluation of students seemed a bit
unnecessary since the classes were big. How can anybody make observations in a
class of 34 students? Also the teachers stated that there is a lot of paper
work and marking after every lesson. We would have been interested to see also
other subjects taught in the school.
